... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 9 PM CST this
evening...

* timing... through this evening

* snow accumulations... around an inch of additional accumulation
with 2 inches in portions of northwest Illinois.

* Winds... north 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Visibilities... less than a mile with near whiteout conditions at
times especially in rural or open areas.

* Impacts... roads and travel will remain hazardous. Considerable
blowing and drifting snow will continue through this evening.
Visibilities will drop below one half mile with near whiteout
conditions at times... especially in open and rural areas. Tree
damage and localized power outages will be possible through
early this evening until the winds begin to diminish.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or are occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
