The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued an
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northeastern Warren County in northwest New Jersey...
northwestern Morris County in northern New Jersey...
Sussex County in northwest New Jersey...
* until 400 PM EDT
* at 1258 PM EDT Weather Service Doppler radar indicated an area of
heavy rainfall moving northeast through Sussex County New Jersey.
Radar estimates that nearly 1.25 to 1.5 inches of rain has fallen
within the past hour. An additional half inch of rain is possible as
the storms move into lower New York state.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
