Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, March 19, 2010.

Another wet and breezy day is expected throughout most of northeastern Asia on Friday. A small area of low pressure developing off the coast of Honshu, to the east of Tokyo, will spark showery weather activity during the morning hours. Moist flow associated with the system will spread across Honshu and produce scattered clouds with areas of light showers and brief periods of moderate rainfall near Tokyo. Precipitation throughout this region is expected to diminish by the afternoon as the low treks eastward, further into the open seas of the Pacific. Tokyo will see slightly cooler temperatures on Friday with a daytime high near 51(F)/ 11(C).

Behind this system, a disturbance moving through northeastern China will reach into the Korean Peninsula and the Sea of Japan with mixed precipitation and fairly breezy winds. Seoul will see partly cloudy skies with a chance of rain and warmer afternoon temperatures near 48(F)/ 9(C).

Meanwhile to the south, dry and warmer weather is expected across the southern and central regions of the eastern China. Beijing will see partly cloudy skies with afternoon highs near 64(F)/ 18(C), while Shanghai will rise to around 68(F)/20(C) with sunny skies.

For Australia, Tropical Cyclone Ului, currently located approximately 730 nm east of Cairns, Australia, will continue it\'s southeastward trek towards eastern Queensland on Friday. While this category 3 storm is expected to downgrade to a category 2 storm, Ului will kick up dangerous surf and very strong winds with maximum sustained winds reaching up to 110 mph. Elsewhere, outside of a few showers in Western Australia, the rest of the nation will see warm and dry conditions due to lingering high pressure. Sunny skies are expected across Sydney with daytime highs in the mid-80s(F)/upper 20s(C). Brisbane will see scattered clouds with highs near 80(F)/27(C).
