Maps Country List Summary
Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday, November 22, 2009. There will be an active weather area in the eastern portion of the continent that will experience a majority of the precipitation.

A deep trough of low pressure will sweep through the Yellow Sea and over the Korean Peninsula before pressing toward Japan. This trough will allow a low pressure system to develop in the East China Sea while moving northeastward up the east coast of Japan. This low will carry a significant amount of moisture that will produce rain showers in the Shanghai region in the morning as well as east coast of rain in Japan. Just a slightly more westward track will produce significantly more precipitation in Japan in the evening.

The secondary effect of the activity described above will be that it will precede significant cold air that will remain entrenched over central and northern China as well as through the Sea of Japan. This cold air will dampen daytime high temperatures throughout this area. Southeast China will not experience the extremely cold air, but mild conditions are still anticipated.

Tokyo will rise into the mid-50s(F)/lower 10s(C), while Shanghai will see temperatures in the upper 40s(F)/upper 0s(C). Seoul will rise into the lower 40s(F)/mid-0s(C).

For Australia, a strong low pressure system will sweep through the southeastern portion of the country and into the southern Tasman Sea. This fast-moving storm will provide moderate to sometimes heavy rain mainly in the Bass Strait area. Windy conditions will accompany this storm as far north as Sydney.

The forecast for Sydney will be tricky with regard temperature because a cold front is expected to press through the area late Sunday or Monday. If this front speeds up, then temperatures will be much cooler on Sunday.

A high pressure system will build in the western portion of the country, allowing dry conditions to dominate the rest of the country.

Sydney will rise into the mid-90s(F)/mid-30s(C), while Melbourne will see temperatures in the mid-60s(F)/upper 10s(C). Brisbane will rise into the mid-80s(F)/upper 20s(C).
