... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 1015 PM CDT
for northern Tillman... northern Comanche... extreme southeastern
Washita... Grady... Caddo and central Kiowa counties...

at 947 PM CDT... National Weather Service meteorologists continued to
detect strong to severe thunderstorms located along a line extending
from Pocasset to Lake Ellsworth to Mountain Park... moving northeast at
35 mph. The strongest storm is near Lake Ellsworth.

Hazards in the warning include...
destructive winds in excess of 70 mph...
large hail up to ping pong Ball size...

Chickasha... Anadarko... Tuttle... Cache... Carnegie... Apache... Snyder...
Rush Springs... Elgin... Cyril... Fletcher... Ninnekah... Sterling... Fort

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
central Kiowa County in southwest Oklahoma...

* until 1200 am CDT

* at 855 PM CDT... National Weather Service radar indicated heavy
rain. Radar estimates 3 to 5 inches of rain has already fallen in
the past 2 to 3 hours. Additional thunderstorms may produce
another inch or so of rain in the next few hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include
Mountain View... Roosevelt... Gotebo... Cooperton and Tom Steed
Reservoir.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... farmland... and other low lying
spots.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flash flooding is observed act quickly. Move
up to higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not drive vehicles
into areas where water covers the roadway.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Washita County in western Oklahoma...
Kiowa County in southwest Oklahoma...
northeastern Jackson County in southwest Oklahoma...

* until 1030 PM CDT

* at 721 PM CDT... National Weather Service radar indicated heavy rain
that will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the advisory
area. 1 to 3 inches of rain has fallen in a few hours from
northeast Jackson County into Kiowa and southeastern Washita
counties. Rapid runoff from the heavy rain will likely result in
localized areas of flooding or high water.

* Some locations that will experience minor flooding include
Snyder... Mountain view... Mountain Park... Roosevelt... Gotebo...
Cooperton and Tom Steed Reservoir.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... highways and underpasses. Additionally... country
roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks... streams and other low
lying areas are subject to flooding.

The record warmest maximum temperature for may 18 at Wichita Falls
was 98 degrees... which was set back in 1967. So far today at
Sheppard Air Force base... the high temperature has been 101
degrees... which has broken the record for this date.

Temperature records for Wichita Falls date back to 1923.
