Subject: upgraded river forecast services at Columbus Georgia

Effective on Wednesday... September 24 2014... the NWS will be
upgrading hydrologic services by lowering flood stage levels on the
Chattahoochee River at Columbus Georgia.

This location is a flood only forecast point which means forecasts
and warnings are issued when the river level is expected to rise
near or above flood stage. The upgraded hydrologic services were a
direct result of field surveys showing the impacts of flooding
along portions of the riverwalks on both sides of the river.

The following critical threshold levels will be changed to:

Chattahoochee River at Columbus /cbug1/

Bankfull/action stage 25 feet
flood stage/minor flood 27 feet
moderate flood stage 42 feet
major flood stage 47 feet

by going through the ahps web Portal /use lower case/:
