... Blizzard Warning in effect until 5 am akst Sunday...
The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Blizzard
Warning... which is in effect until 5 am akst Sunday.
A weather front associated with a strong low in the southern
Bering Sea has stalled over the Pribilof Islands and will remain
over the area through most of the night. Northeast winds 35 to 45
mph and visibilities frequently reduced to one quarter mile or
less should also persist through the night. Visibilities may
improve for a short while in a break between snow bands but the
break will be short lived with conditions returning to blizzard
within an hour or two.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
