Kuskokwim River near Crooked Creek...
The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a
* Flood Watch for the lower Kuskokwim valley near Crooked Creek.
* Through Wednesday morning
* for ice jam flooding
* the ice is still solid downstream of Crooked Creek at Rabbit
Island. If the breakup front moves quickly past Crooked Creek a
jam could result and water levels could rise quickly.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding.

The Weather Service office in Valdez set a new reord low on Sunday
may 19 of 30 degrees... the old record was 31 set in 1992. Also the
snow depth was 28 inches... breaking the reord of 6 inches from 1964.
This morning the low temperature was 29 degrees which is a degree
lower than the old record for may 20th of 30 set in 1966. The snow
depth today is 24 inches... breaking the old record of 4 inches from
1968.
