Dense Fog Advisory
Expires 10:00 AM CST on November 21, 2009
Statement as of 8:41 am CST on November 21, 2009
... Dense fog advisory now in effect until 10 am CST this
morning...
The dense fog advisory is now in effect until 10 am CST this
morning.
Widespread dense fog is expected this morning... reducing
visibilities to one quarter mile or less. Also be alert for icy
spots... especially on bridges and overpasses as surface
temperatures will be at or below freezing. The fog is expected to
dissipate by around 10 am.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Anyone traveling early this morning should be prepared to
encounter fog... and plan accordingly. If you encounter a fog bank
while driving on the Highway... always use your low-beam
headlights and slow down to a speed at which you can safely stop
if you encounter an animal or object in the roadway.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... please slow
down... use your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you.
