Special Statement

Expires 4:00 PM MDT on April 20, 2014
Statement as of 2:44 am MDT on April 20, 2014

... Spring storm is expected Tuesday and Wednesday...

Confidence is increasing that a significant Spring storm will
impact the region Tuesday and Wednesday. Ahead of the storm... very
warm weather is forecast Monday and Tuesday... with our first 80
degree day expected at Salt Lake City Monday.

Strong southerly winds are expected to develop Tuesday ahead of
the storm. The strongest winds will likely impact the western
valleys and mountain areas. There is a chance for property damage
due to the winds... so its a good idea to check your yard for any
loose items that may become airborne and secure them.

Much colder temperatures are expected with the cold front Tuesday
night through mid week. Accumulating snowfall is expected for the
northern mountains and bench locations... with many northern
valleys seeing snow in the air. The cold temperatures will
provide several opportunities for a hard freeze to impact early
gardens before next weekend.

This large storm will impact the entire region this week. Prepare
for strong winds before Tuesday. If venturing outdoors... ensure
you are ready for a significant temperature drop by Tuesday night.
Monitor NOAA Weather Radio and social media for the latest
information... forecasts... and warnings.
