Special Statement

Expires 9:00 AM EST on February 12, 2012
Statement as of 6:08 PM EST on February 11, 2012

... Black ice will be possible for portions of southeast New England...

A mix snow and rain that fell across the southeastern coastal
plain of Massachusetts... including the cape and the islands... as
well as southeastern Rhode Island... has led to liquid-equivalent
accumulations of a few tenths of an inch and subsequent ponding of
water along roadways. Blustery northwest winds this evening will
usher very cold air across the aforementioned region likely
resulting in the development of black ice. If out traveling this
evening and into Sunday morning... be aware of the possibility of
black ice... take it slow... be safe... and exercise caution... especially
when traveling along untreated roadways.
