... Wind Advisory in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 am PST
Sunday for the Willamette Valley including the greater Portland
and Vancouver areas..the lower Columbia and the I-5 corridor in
Cowlitz County...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Wind
Advisory for the Willamette Valley including the greater Portland
and Vancouver areas..the lower Columbia and the I-5 corridor in
Cowlitz County... which is in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 am
PST Sunday.

Strong southerly winds are expected this evening ahead of a strong
Pacific cold front... followed by strong westerly winds early
Sunday morning after the front passes through the area. Sustained
speeds of 25 to 35 mph are expected with gusts 45 to 50 mph. Winds
will ease Sunday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 45 and 57 mph. Winds of
these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra
precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use
caution until the winds subside.
