Winter Weather Advisory
Expires 10:00 AM PST on November 22, 2009
Statement as of 1:53 PM PST on November 21, 2009
... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 1 am to 10 am PST
Sunday...
The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for snow and blowing snow in Baker County above 3000 feet
... Which is in effect from 1 am to 10 am PST Sunday. The Winter
Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
Another round of gusty southeast winds will build across Baker
County this evening then be joined by snow and blowing snow
towards 1 am. The brisk winds will shift to the west Sunday
morning and the snow is expected to end in Baker Valley by 10 am
PST and diminish in the mountains through the afternoon.
Temperatures will be cold enough for snow to valley floors and for
blowing snow above 3000 feet. While it will be difficult to
measure the snow due to blowing and drifting... look for average snow
accumulations to range from 1 to 3 inches on valley floors to 4
to 6 inches in the mountains.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and
blowing snow. Use caution when traveling... especially in open
areas.
