Lake Effect Snow Advisory, Wind Chill Advisory

Expires 6:00 AM EST on February 12, 2012
Statement as of 10:31 PM EST on February 11, 2012

... Lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST
Monday...
... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EST Sunday...

* locations... Oswego County.

* Timing... through late Sunday night.

* Accumulations... an inch or less overnight... 2 to 4 inches
Sunday... and 2 to 4 inches Sunday night.

* Winds... northwest 10 to 20 mph.

* Temperatures... lows zero to 10 above overnight. Highs around
20 Sunday. Lows 10 to 15 Sunday night.

* Wind chill values... as low as 15 below.

* Impacts... wind chills will create dangerously cold conditions
for exposed skin. Snow and blowing snow will create limited
visibilities at times and produce snow covered roads and
difficult travel conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In lake effect snow the weather can vary from locally heavy snow
in narrow bands to clear skies just a few miles away. If you will
be traveling across the region be prepared for rapid changes in
Road and visibility conditions.

A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when strong wind will combine
with cold temperatures to create dangerously cold conditions for
exposed skin. The wind will make it feel like it is 15 degrees
below zero or colder for a period of several hours. If you will
be outdoors use common sense and dress warmly... making sure that
all exposed skin is covered. If possible... avoid prolonged
exposure to the cold to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
