The Flood Warning continues for
the Atchafalaya River at Morgan City.
* Until further notice.
* At 9:00 am Friday the stage was 5.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to remain near 5.9 feet through
Wednesday may 29th.
* Impact... at 5.0 feet... floodwall gates will be closed to protect
against higher stages. Vessel traffic will be affected by stronger
river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be strictly
enforced by the U. S. Coast Guard.
* Impact... at 4.0 feet... water will move up the bank and across access
roads below the city dock. Floodwall gates should be closed by the
5 foot stage to protect against higher stages. Vessel traffic will
be affected by stronger river current and vessel traffic safety
rules will be strictly enforced by the U. S. Coast Guard.

parishes until 845 PM CDT...

At 739 PM CDT... National Weather Service meteorologists detected a
strong thunderstorm 12 miles northeast of sorrel... moving west at 5
mph.

* The strong thunderstorm will be near...
Lake Fausse Pointe and sorrel by 845 PM...

The primary threats from this storm are pea to nickel size hail and
wind gusts to near 40 mph... which could down tree limbs and blow
around unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe home or
building until this storm has passed.
