Flood Warning

Statement as of 6:51 PM CST on February 11, 2012

The Flood Warning continues for
the Atchafalaya River at Morgan City.
* Until further notice.
* At 6:00 PM Saturday the stage was 4.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to continue rising to a crest
near 5.0 on early afternoon Tuesday February 14th.
* Impact... at 5.0 feet... floodwall gates will be closed to protect
against higher stages. Vessel traffic will be affected by stronger
river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be strictly
enforced by the U. S. Coast Guard.
