Through 8 am...an extensive area of generally light to moderate rain will continue across south central Louisiana and adjacent coastal waters between Cameron and the lower Atchafalaya River out to beyond 60 nm. Across south central Louisiana...rainfall totals will be generally less than one quarter of an inch...but totals of up to an inch will be possible especially closer to the coast. Over the coastal waters...embedded isolated thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rain will also occur between the coast to beyond 60 nm offshore from Grand Chenier to the lower Atchafalaya River. The stronger storms will contain very heavy rainfall capable of reducing visibilities to less than one mile and occasional cloud to water lightning.
