Special Statement
Expires 4:00 AM EST on February 12, 2012
Statement as of 10:36 PM EST on February 11, 2012
... Gusty winds and bitter cold temperatures overnight...
Lingering flurries could lay down an additional dusting of snow
overnight. However... gusty northwest winds will create blowing snow
and may lead to reduced visibilities making driving difficult...
especially on any untreated surfaces... roads... bridges and
overpasses. Motorists are encouraged to drive cautiously and leave
extra time while traveling to their destinations safely.
In addition... the Arctic air that is settling into the area will set
the stage for some of the coldest temperatures of the winter season
thus far... with wind chill values in the single digits dropping to
around zero at many locations by sunrise on Sunday.
