... Dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am CST Saturday...
The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 10 am CST Saturday.
Dense fog is expected to develop across the area late tonight and
persist into the morning hours Saturday... as the area remains
under the influence of an area of surface high pressure... situated
over central Illinois. Visibilities have already dropped into the
2 to 4 mile range across portions of central Iowa... and are
expected to continue to fall to one quarter mile or less by the
early morning hours. The dense fog is expected to persist through
the mid morning hours Saturday... before lifting with improving
visibilities by 10 am.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead
of you.
