Winter Storm Warning

Expires 9:00 PM CST on February 01, 2015
Statement as of 3:53 am CST on January 31, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 9 PM this evening to 9 PM
CST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 9 PM this
evening to 9 PM CST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in
effect.

* Timing... 9 PM this evening until 9 PM Sunday evening.

* Snow accumulations... 7 to 10 inches.

* Winds... light south winds tonight. Northeast 10 to 20 mph with
gusts up to 30 mph Sunday... resulting in considerable drifting
of snow and some blowing of the snow by afternoon.

* Visibilities... below 1/2 mile at times.

* Impacts... roads will become slick and hazardous. On
Sunday... blowing and drifting snow will create areas of low
visibility and may make it difficult for Road crews to keep
roads clear... especially in open areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions
are expected or are occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast
that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you
must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle
in case of an emergency.
