Warnings & Notices

Lake Wind Advisory

Expires 5:00 AM EST on February 12, 2012
Statement as of 1:26 am EST on February 12, 2012

... Lake Wind Advisory now in effect until 5 am EST early this
morning...

The lake Wind Advisory is now in effect until 5 am EST early this
morning.

* Hazards: strong winds.

* Winds: winds northwest around 20 knots. Gusts as high as 30 knots.

* Timing: through 5 am Sunday morning.

* Impacts: strong gusty winds will create hazardous boating
conditions on area lakes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats and personal watercraft will be
especially prone to capsizing.

Special Statement

Expires 8:00 AM EST on February 12, 2012
Statement as of 6:01 PM EST on February 11, 2012

... Elevated fire danger Sunday...

Wind is not expected to reach the red flag warning criteria
on Sunday. However... low humidity and low fuel moisture will
result in elevated fire danger. Winds Sunday will be northwest to
west at 10 to 15 mph with gusts near 25 mph. Afternoon relative
humidities will lower to near 15 percent over much of the area.

The South Carolina forestry commission has posted a red flag fire
alert for much of the area. The alert strongly advised postponing
outdoor burning until conditions improve.
