Winter Weather Advisory

Expires 12:00 PM CDT on March 21, 2010
Statement as of 10:48 am CDT on March 20, 2010

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight
tonight to noon CDT Sunday...

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight
to noon CDT Sunday.

* Timing... a strong cold front will move across the area through
tonight with colder air moving back across the area. The front
will bring widespread rain to the majority of the state. The
upper level part of the storm will move through the region
tonight and early Sunday bringing much colder air aloft. Snow
will mix with the rain overnight and continue through early
Sunday before the system pulls away.

* Main impact... one to two inches of snow... with isolated higher
amounts will be possible in the advisory area. With air
temperatures remaining above freezing during the time the snow
will fall and warm ground ground temperatures... the highest
snowfall will likely be in the higher elevations and on grassy
areas.

* Other impacts..areas of snow or slush may accumulate on some
area roadways... especially less traveled and elevated ones.
This may lead to some slippery driving conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
